July (25)

We enjoyed playing pickleball together and then reading lots of stories together. We love having Andrew over, he reads lots and lots of stories and makes many fun and funny. The kids all laugh and laugh. They love it!

Alden and Calvin's room after we got it all cleaned. Over the summer we always do a deep clean of the kids room. This year we went the extra mile...making sure we went through almost everything, rearranged things, and hung up pictures. For the older boys we got lamps for their nightstands and got them a window seat. (Not in this picture but probably in one next month.)

More fun with Uncle Andrew, laughing at stories and bagging bananas for smoothies.

The girls were sitting down playing the piano together and it made me smile. I love when my kids choose to make music together. Below was a bike ride we took from one park to another. It was neat because at this park we saw the Plan of Salvation drawn out on the ground. It made it even more special to find that there.

We also went to Chander Garden's. We love this place, not too large, but full of lots of fun little spots of beauty.

Above was a day Maebryn had made this fun outfit and was going around on her car talking to people on her phone. It is fun to see the girls dress up and play all of the things they play. Below is the rollarcoaster lego set that Benson and Evan got. It really was a neat lego set and was fun to play with and see. At this point when I write this they have taken it apart and have made other things. They love making the lego things as described then to change them and make lots of new things.

Above is Benson and Evan's door. They have some sign ups for detective work and clubs and all sorts of things. I think it is fun to see all of the things that they think of. Below is Alden and Calvin's room before we cleaned it on a particularly messy day.

This is Benson and Evan's room after we cleaned it up. Mostly we moved the bookshelves into their closet and then got them table and chairs in their room. We later put up some more frames on the wall where they can hang up more of their pictures.

Above is Maebryn helping me make vanilla. We bought a pond of Uganda vanilla and we were getting it ready for jars to make vanilla extract. We have enjoyed making extract. Below was an outing we did to a little beach not too far south from us. The month of July we were mostly home teaching piano, cleaning, working in the yard, reading books together, doing art, ect but once a week I would try to do some sort of outing. This was one of those.

Above is the girls room after they cleaned it up and after Maebryn finished the pillow for her bed. I love that they both have latch hook pillows now. Roslyn made the one for her bed on the top bunk and then started the one of the bottom bunk that Maebryn is working on in the picture below but when she got about 10-12 lines to the end she said that she was done and didn't want to finish it. Maebryn said that she would do it...I had my doubts. I thought it would be too difficult for her and that it would be me doing each stich with her. I showed her how to do a few then helped her with a couple then she did her first all by herself then she started doing them all by herself. And then she worked on it faithfully until she was done. I am very proud of her and her diligence and hard work on this.

Above is Maebryn washing the dishes. She does a good job doing her chore and loves when she is able to do it. Below is the four littles having a party for or with their animals. They had gotten some of their snack prizes from piano and then all gone upstairs and had this little party. They had even wrapped up some presents for their animals.

Doing the girls hair with their new hair things.

We just finished putting red mulch around the plants in the back and I really like the way it looks. I usually buy black but I think I might go with the red for this area, I do really like the color it brings.
Above is Maebryn in her bed, my sweet little girl has been actually sleeping in her bed. Below was another one of our outings, we all went bowling. It had been a long time since we had been bowling. I think it was a first for Roslyn and Maebryn.

The 4th of July! It was a beautiful night. It even got cold, we almost needed sweaters. We did little fireworks and watched the big fireworks that our neighbors put off. It was a nice night being home together.

We all went out and got a yummy meal together from a place that Michael had a gift card to. I think it was Longhorn Steakhouse. Also that day their was a roadrunner that had gotten stuck in the duck coop and was very flustered. Benson ended up picking it up and trying to help it. Really in the end we realized that it just needed a couple of minutes by itself to calm down and then it went off as normal.

Above, my girl playing her ukulele. Roslyn was sleeping on the couch bed and I just loved the way her hair flowed over the bed, it just looked beautiful.
