Roslyn's birthday. She had a yummy Raspberry vanilla cake.
The kids spent some time playing games on the trampoline on her birthday. Below is Roslyn opening up her cards, this one was from Evan. He spends lots of time making his cards, putting in details throughout.
Roslyn picked to have French toast for breakfast. Everyone really enjoyed that, she then had pizza for one of her meals and I can't remember what the last on was. (Years past she often would do pizza pockets for one and then pizza for the other but I think she switched it up this year.)
Evan's birthday. It was a fun and exciting day. He got a big zoo lego set. I hadn't read the details on it very well and found out it was mini legos. We all spent some time working on it. The mini legos take a lot more time to do a small area but they do end up making lots of little details with those small parts.
Rasberry Cheesecake was Evan's pick this year. I can't remember what his meals were but I am sure they were all very yummy. Evan makes some good picks with everything he picks.
The day before Evan's birthday we got our first duck egg. It was exciting, we used a duck egg in both Evan and in Roslyn's birthday cakes.
Tara shirts. We love the clothes Tara sends. Thee were cute outfits that she sent to the girls for Easter. They love them and wore them a number of times throughout the Easter season.
Sunday afternoon, in her class they had talked about being daughter to a king and made these crowns. She has such wonderful Primary teachers as do all of our kids. This is us on Sunday afternoon. We often come up here on fast Sunday to do our own personal fast and testimony meeting.
These are all pictures of Calvin's art with the poems he wrote next to them. We usually follow an art tutorial during art where he liked to make whatever he feels and write his own poem. I always enjoy seeing what he has come up with.
Board walk one afternoon. I had set a goal to get out and visit places about once a week. This was one of those and the one that I remember the most...I'm not sure how many weeks we actually got out to different places, but I remember this one because our van..new van.. wouldn't start. In the end it was just the battery which we were grateful that it wasn't anything more. (We had just gotten it from the shop...I think we drove here straight from the shop actually.)
Tea party with friends on one of our temple days. Below is an art project we did together that same day as well.
Girls night- twice a year we have a girls night. Once in the fall when the boys go to a football game and once in the spring when the boys go to a basketball game. We had Rosa's Cafe and watched a movie together. I think it was "Wicked" if I remember right.
Above was my animal co-op class, the kids were trying to walk like a specific type of animal and see how fast they could go like that. If I remember right I think it was a type of dinosaur that they were trying to walk like.
This is a hut that Benson and Evan made, I was quite impressed when I went up to see it and how good it looked. Below is the girls picking turnips from our garden. The turnips grew really well and we had quite a few.
Maebryn has really become quite the helper in the kitchen. She love to help make things just as long as she is not around when "ouie eyes" are being cut. Below is the kids feeding the ducks during recess.
I snapped this picture above, because I don't know how many more times Alden will rock his little sister to sleep. He has always been such a good helper with all of his siblings. Helping and loving them has always seemed like a joy for him, he does it volunteeringly often.
Above is Calvin dissecting a worm for Biology. I can't remember why he wasn't there that day, we were either out of town or he was sick, so he got to do it later on at home. Below is the garden Benson and Evan built. Again I was impressed at how well they thought out this garden and how well it looked up here in the forest area.
This is a big joy for me. When I have all six of my children playing a game together. Just because one usually has something going on and because of the difference in ages, it seems rare when they all are playing together. I love to see what games they come up with. They have made some fun and interesting games over the course of the years.
Organizing music...there seems to always be more music that needs to be organized. This was nice because I had a number of piles but I got through all of them.
The girls sleeping on the couch bed together. They will often come in to our room to sleep here. Below is a number of cards that Maebryn has made me. I decided I can't keep them all even though I know one day it will stop, where she isn't making me cards every other day. For now I enjoy them when they come but also realize that if I were to keep them all, it'd be a little bit too much.
recess
Sunday afternoon walks
Above is a book of Mormon that one of my seminary students decorated. I was so impressed with her ability. It is amazing. She is a really good artist. Below was the day we celebrated my birthday. The actual day of my birthday was a bit crazy so we celebrated on that Saturday that also ended up being a bit crazy. To fix our gold van they quoted us at least $6,000. At that price I figured we ought to just buy a new van which we did that Saturday. One it was a mess them changing the meet up time and being unresponsive ect. Then when we got the van we realized that we had been scammed partly by them since the odometer had been changed. (Also this weekend the outside refrigerator broke and the microwave.)
The other exciting thing was when I was blowing out my candles on my birthday cake, my hair caught fire...the cake now has a lot of candles. (I hopeful that everything breaking down is not a sign of things to come now that I have reached 40 years old.) On a more positive note, I had some amazing meals, beautiful flowers and the nicest notes from my children. I feel extremely blessed.
