The temple has been closed this entire month which has given us Wednesday mornings. Most I have used to get caught up with math and other things with my kids or doing a little bit of yard work and other things I have needed to do but one of the weeks we got to go to Springtown to help with clean up after the tornado that went through. It was a lot of fun and a pleasure to be able to help.
Building miniature tabernacles in seminary. Next year I will have to take more pictures. I have this concern of taking pictures of youth or kids that aren't mine but it is neat for them to see what they have done and remember classes from the past.
These are the first dresses I have made and I think they turned out fairly well. I have been grateful for sewing that has gotten me to stretch and start doing more things. It made me realize that it really isn't as expensive as I had previously thought to make clothes.
These boys both got metals the same day. Basketball has really been good for both of them and I am so grateful for the school and Amanda for setting it all up.
The pool is still cold but that doesn't stop brave swimmers or determined swimmers. I jump in from time to time, usually just after working in the yard.
Evan and Benson really are great creators. This is up in the forest where they have built a hut, an enclosure for a tortoise, a pond, a garden, ect. I love seeing all that they create up in the forest...I was going to say I love going up there but that would be a stretch...there are tall grasses, chiggers, stickers, ect, one day we will have it cleared up here a little better so it's easier to get up here, but for now I am glad none of that bothers them.
Our camping/ not camping trip. We had planned this trip for camping a while back but we didn't take into consideration that the boys would have basketball early the next morning...so it was turning into one of those trips that you show up in just enough time to eat dinner and go to bed just to leave first thing in the morning. I think this is a lot of work and laundry for a rough night's sleep. Anyways we decided to go to our camp sight cook our dinner, hike play at the lake and then go home to sleep. It was a great get away without the major clean up at the end. I loved it!
Below was a day at the park for Teddy's birthday. We went and played for a couple of hours.
This is a pattern for basic shorts. I have made a few pairs now and am starting to get it down fairly well.
Easter baskets and Easter with the kids. It fell on General Conference and I realized later that we never colored eggs...Maebryn has brought it up a couple of times so we might still do it, it might be June by the time we get to it though.
Conference tents and having the elders over. It was a wonderful conference weekend that just went too quickly.
We're always working on a project. I love to see our yard becoming more and more beautiful. This is the pool area. We put down some thicker barrier and am hoping it keeps out the very strong weeds that grow in this area.
Roslyn was baptized on my grandma's birthday. It was a beautiful day. It ended up being on a Thursday, so I had taught school that day and it was a full day but it all worked out perfectly. We were so grateful that Ron and Tara could come. Everything about it was perfect.
Roslyn has grown up with a great group of girls that are all her age and they all came to the baptism to support her.
Lots of people came to support our little girl. It is hard to believe that Roslyn is this old already.
We loved having Ron and Tara at our house before the baptism. My mom had put in a lasagna so it was ready for us after school.
We also took my parents to see the school. I always like showing everyone the school where I work at so they can picture what I am telling them. It really is something you have to see to understand how it works and it is a beautiful campus.
When my parents were in town we decided to go to Clark Gardens. It is somewhere I have been wanting to go but have never actually walked through. We helped trim the iris' once with the ward as a service project but never really went in. I was amazed at how large it is and the beauty that is there. I really enjoyed walking through it all and it even had some fun things for the kids.
