Sunday morning cereal day. Sunday is our one day to have cold cereal, we always watch the music and the spoken word as we do so.
Visiting daddy's office
Our cute girl
Visiting the temple site. We are so excited for the temple to be built closer to our home. It will still be a little bit of a drive but won't be through Dallas traffic. We dropped off cookies for the temple workers and saw how the progress was going.
Sunday dresses- These girls like to find either matching dresses or dresses that are close to matching. Today they went for blue dresses.
These girls were working on something in their room, when I asked them about it they had written a little poem about the bees and sunshine. They had these stickers, made a picture and wrote a poem to go along with it.
Making vanilla extract. We have a friend that is really big into making vanilla extract, she told us how simple it was, so we got some vanilla beans and have made a bunch of our own.
Father's day- Michael often wants a big cookie for his birthday. He definitely likes chocolate chip cookies.
I took this picture because I thought it sweet to see little Maebryn falling asleep while Michael read the girls their bedtime story.
Fossil Rim- We know someone that works there and they had donated a few tickets for a fundraiser at church. We purchased them and then got to go. We all loved it. It was neat to see so many animals right up close and in person.
In our area a number of people do horse riding lessons. I don't think I would have thought anything of it if I lived somewhere else but living here it has made me wonder if I should get my kids at least familiar with horses. We have an amazing friend in our ward that has a horse and I asked her about it, she said she would love to show us her horse, so we went out, helped feed and brush the horse. The kids also got to get up on the horse for a minute.
When the boys went to high adventure camp their cousin came down and joined them. It was so fun to have them all over at our house, they were here only for a short time but we sure enjoyed the visit.
Sunday afternoon painting for cards to send to our grandparents for Father's Day.
When I took these pictures, I had recently visited with a friend that said how she would take pictures of her kids rooms every year or two. She said how the things they have in their room tell a lot about them and just the stage they are in at the time. She also said how there are a lot of memories made in that space, so when I came home I took a picture of the girls room....not sure why I didn't do the boys. It could be because I recently took pictures of theirs as it wasn't too long ago that they moved into their new rooms.
Above- Activity day camp. I loved the craft that we ended up having. It was a bow and arrow using a toilet paper roll, a straw, rubber band, and an eraser. I loved sharing the story of Nephi's bow and the many parallels we can make from it and the things we can learn. (Everyone really liked the craft as well, which made it even more fun.)
Below is pictures of me with my matching girls. It is fun matching with them. I love them and all of my boys dearly. What a joy it is to be a mom. I am writing this almost a year later and we still like to get in our matching dresses from time to time. Fun to match with my girls.
