July

July started off with a trip. We left right after Michael got off work and pulled an all nighter...was more difficult than we thought and we don't think we'll be doing that again. We had a plan to drive as far as we could until we got tired then just pull over and sleep for a few hours. The problem was as soon as we pulled over everyone woke up and then we couldn't sleep, but it all worked out and we made it to Savannah!
We really enjoyed walking around this historic city seeing the beautiful vegetation, the historic homes, eating ice cream at the famous ice cream place...I can't remember the name at the moment... riding the trolleys and going on the farry. We especially enjoyed checking into our hotel and getting a good nights rest after our trip.

Just before we left Savannah, Michael's brother and his family were coming through so we met up for just a minute before heading out to go to the family reunion in Charleston SC.
Roslyn enjoyed doing sparklers on the 4th.
We all loved relaxing at the beach. Such beauty is there. It's been a while since we have been to the ocean, when I first walked out onto the beach, it took my breath away to see and think about all the life that is there. Beautiful.

Grandma had gotten these girls matching PJs. So fun to have them matching.

Visiting a fort in the area.

Playing let's make a deal. A family reunion tradition.

Michael's parents celebrated their 50th anniversary! Everything was done so well and was beautiful.

Morning beach walk looking for animals and shells. Saw this star fish alive and moving.

We all went on a historic horse and carriage ride through Charleston in our matching t-shirts.

Family pictures on the beach

We then went to Grandma and Grandpa's house, these racoons were hiding up in the blueberry tree. The last few days of the reunion a number of us started feeling sick. Maebryn had a high fever and even had a seizure. Calvin, Roslyn and I didn't feel well as we headed to Grandma and Grandpa's. Our van also broke down, luckily family was able to get us back while our van was towed to the shop.

Later on we found out we all had COVID... really almost everyone at the reunion ended up with it. It was really hard on most of us. Benson also ended up having a seizure.

It worked out that we were sick and stranded. Our van got fixed and we felt better just in time for us to head out to be able to visit our Tennessee cousins for a couple of days before picking up Michael from the airport there to take us back home.

Watching the play Matilda that had my brother, 2 nieces and one nephew in it.

Visiting the aquarium and we also went to a really neat 3D movie about birds.

A beautiful overlook just before we had to head home.

Back home and swimming lots. We had an exceptionally hot summer. It was a blessing to have a pool. We had friends over every Wednesday to swim and did all piano lessons that day.

Visiting dinosaur valley with Uncle Austen

I love seeing all of the things Roslyn does and makes in her dollhouse.
