Tara did it again, she sent us a fun package. New outfits for the girls just the day before school started and fun foods from her trip.
We often go to the nursing home after church to sing to a lady that I visit teach. I am grateful for these opportunities for us to go sing and to visit others with all of my sweet and wonderful family. I feel so blessed to have them.
Alden's birthday! The kids have been having fun putting each other on their shoulders and walking around. Alden had a good day playing game time opening presents and having all of his birthday meals.
This is a picture of my classroom the way it was on the first day of school. After about the first week I switched things around a little bit so they aren't in rows anymore and now we have a big rug in the middle, but it was a great way to start. The decor is still the same.
This was us starting our school, this year since we are doing the private school, we just do our poem and scripture and a couple of math assignments. I am not ready to give up memorizing our scripture each week, I enjoy it and feel that it is one of the best things we do...not the best but it is one of the better things we do.
I brought home Michael's labeler to make some things for my school, but while we had it here and home I made labels for everything in the pantry. I am hoping it helps it stay organized longer. (So far it is working fairly well- it has been two months and it is still relatively organized. Below is the end of Calvin's birthday.
Calvin had a great birthday. He is our one vanilla or yellow cake boy. Almost everyone else always asks for chocolate, so we enjoy having something different on his birthday.
Seminary started up just before Calvin's birthday. We are excited to have a bigger class, even though we will miss all of those that have graduated and gone on. We are excited about this new school year.
Maebryn making a salad. She does a good job cutting up vegetables. She loves to put lots of things in her salads, so she makes good salads. I enjoy having her help make dinner.
Above was us working out in the garden. I like the arches we have put up and I am excited to hopefully get things planted in it. I often say this but I am hoping for our best garden yet this next year. Below was the ribbon cutting for Providence Hill Academy. I am excited for my kids to attend here and for the opportunity to teach there.
Below is Maebryn massaging my feet/ legs. She will often come and do this for me. I love it. She also loves to take off my shoes when I come home and has done that ever since she was a little girl that could walk 18 month old. She still will often take off my shoes for me.
Working on our 20 foot slide. I was thinking that we could simply lie it down on the hill but we found that it didn't work unless we pulled or pushed ourselves down so we had to build a stand for it so that it would slide down well.
Above is the kids having our neighbors over doing their puppet show. They love to put together puppet shows for each other. The girls will often do one for the boys and the boys will do one for the girls.
The girls worked on coloring the pictures that are on the wall and then we hung them up. They are ones that Tara sent. She had kept them for years as they are such cute little pictures. It was fun to be able to put them up.
Trying out the horses before school started. I think I am more excited about this then some of my children, but I am glad that they get the opportunity to ride horses. It just is a fun and neat opportunity to have in your life. Roslyn and Evan seem to really enjoy it. The other kids think it is okay but don't get excited about it.
I am a little bit allergic to these sunflowers but I love them so I let them grow. Also I think I am almost over my allergy. I have been using allergy drops. I love this little path and spot, just a fun little hide away.
Alden and Calvin both got promoted on the same night. Michael and I both got to attend.
This is the window seat/ bench/ shelf that we got for the boys window. It fits perfectly and I think it looks nice. It was a nice finish to their room.
Above are some little baby birds the kids found in the playhouse kitchen set. Below is a build a bear that Maebryn got from the library. She won one of the drawings for the library reading program. She was excited, she got a leap frog and this build a bear.
This was a presentation that Alden did with others from robotics at the library. There was a really good turn out.
Above is one of Alden's pizzas. Everyone loves when he makes pizza.
