Uncle Austen had come to bring his goats while he was in Utah. It was fun to have them but we also realized that goats might be more than we can handle on a regular basis.
This was the big Christmas gift this year. It is a pool table and can be made a small ping pong table and just a nice regular table for playing games. Michael and I had a hard time getting it up the stairs but we made it up. (If we ever ended up moving...which hopeful doesn't happen, I think this table will stay.) The kids really have enjoyed it. It has mostly been used as a board game/ card game table but every now and again, I will see them play pool or ping pong.
The kids made a sick bed for us.. they had Uncle and Austen and myself try it out.
Doing a campfire or just visiting up at the swing set on Sunday afternoon.
The kids played lots of games with their cousins and did some crafts as well.
For Christmas Roslyn got a little doll house that you put together. It was super tiny. I put the regular elmers glue in the picture for comparison. The piano was tiny.
Christmas morning. (Calvin's bike is the one in the background.)
Christmas Eve we went to the abandoned zoo to walk around and tour. There was a stomach bug that had gone through everyone so this particular day Michael wasn't feeling too well and a couple of the kids had just finished recovering.
It sure was fun having Uncle Andrew with us. He always makes things a little more special. The pictures down below show them reading stories. That is everyone's favorite thing to do with Uncle Andrew, he always makes the stories so fun for the kids.
Reading with Uncle Andrew is always a treat. The kids love to sit by him and hear him read, he adds lots of little things to the stories to make them exciting.
Above is us going through a box that my Mom sent full of ornaments that my grandma made. It was fun to go through them, she made lots of neat ornaments. Below is a picture of one of the notes the elves left and I think something they left for the kids to do.
Above was Roslyn had randomly fallen asleep on the mat to the backyard. I was amazed and took a picture because she is not one to normally fall asleep in random places and she has basically given up naps. But I think she had just gotten over an illness or was coming down with one. I just let her take a rest there.
Craft above in preschool. Below was some ornaments we got for Tara but hadn't gotten around to doing the night we stayed under the Christmas tree and so we painted and did them on this day.
This was a gift from a friend at church, such a fun advent calendar for us to open each day. We really enjoyed to do it during the Christmas season and will look forward to doing it again next year. It is super cute telling a little story with each piece and building a cute little scene.
This was our special night sleeping under the Christmas tree with our new Christmas pj's sent from amazing Tara.
Christmas pj's
This was our ward Christmas Party and one of the other families had these little ears for their children to be Santa's little elfs. They gave a couple for Maebryn to try out for a minute...that's about as long as she wanted them on.
Zoo trip with friends. It was nice of the one teenager to hold Maebryn a lot of the time. We enjoyed being with them. They are some of my piano students but also really good friends of Roslyn and Maebryn's.
Learning about letter K in preschool making our little K kangaroos. Below is us doing an inside recess, probably because it was raining or cold outside. The kids love playing with the cushions building forts or making a slide in this case.
Outdoor recess playing with the kitchen. This was definitely everyone's favorite activity outside. They would swing some but loved to make things in the sand kitchen.
Bible museum that came to our local college. They had a lot of neat artifacts. This man had made this replica of the Gutenberg printing press. He let the kids do all of the steps to print this page of the Bible. It is exactly as the first print of the Bible would have been so it is actually quite difficult to read. It was interesting to see the progress of the Bible over the years.
Michael's birthday. He loves his cookies...seems lately he either has a very large cookie or this year was a first being a cookie cake. (Basically a cookie in a cake pan.)
In the morning working on my splits and the other kids doing Daddies exercises with him.
Church dresses and hair. Whenever I do the girls hair it doesn't last long so I always have to take a picture.
