Ward campout and fun visitors!!

We were super excited that we got to have Russ and Jen and family come and spend a night with us on there way home.  They had had a long trip and weren't able to stay too long but it sure was fun to see them at our home.  There youngest boy is right in-between Alden and Calvin's ages and got a long really well with all of our boys.  Our boys wished he could stay, we will have to figure out a way to spend more time with them, they are an amazing family!
Ward Campout!!
These pictures are my attempts to get all of us in a picture! I guess this is when a selfie stick comes in handy! :) It was nice that this time Michael got off a little early and went in a little bit later the next morning for work so he was able to get to the camp before it got dark. The boys were great helpers, setting up the tent and getting all of our things to our camp spot.

Our fire.  I'm not going to lie, I was really proud of this fire and of my little helpers.  We only brought tin foil dinners because I knew we would make a fire.  Every time this often leads to a bit of a challenge because of how long they take to cook and I am often the only one with a tin foil dinner so the only one who needs to get a fire started.  (Also we usually are one of the first people up there and are by ourselves for a while.) Anyways this year it was especially difficult to start a fire.  The ground was all wet from rain and not only that but it started raining not long after we got there.  After we got all set up we had about an hour until dinner time and it looked like rain so instead of going on a hike..which I kindof wanted to do, I said that we should start building our fire so we could get our dinners cooked. With everything all wet the only dry things were pine needles that don't absorb much water and sit above the ground.  Everyone especially Alden worked super hard getting me constant pine needles for about 30 plus minutes to keep the fire going to dry out the wood, this was done even during a short rainstorm.  Luck-ally we got our fire started and our dinners cooked!
